Group Leader Production

Responsibilities

• Manage the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment to meet production schedules and quality requirements
• Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and support launch and pilot activities
• Train, develop, and evaluate hourly team members using standardized methods and Job Instruction Training (JIT)
• Implement lean manufacturing and synchronous principles to reduce variation and control costs
• Maintain safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, management, and union representatives
• Administer National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the UAW

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in personnel management
• Knowledge of waste elimination systems such as Kaizen and Lean
• Intermediate proficiency in English for effective professional conversation
• Availability to work a rotating 4x3 shift schedule
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma certification at the Green or Yellow Belt level
