About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead an innovative, rigorous, and highly collaborative research program focused on advancing fundamental understanding of the immune system
- Develop a transformative research vision and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Play a key role in engineering immune cells to detect, prevent, and cure organ-specific diseased states
- Engage with colleagues to uphold values of scholarly excellence, innovation, and collaboration
- Communicate progress and results with colleagues and the leadership team
- Publish and disseminate impactful findings via preprints and software repositories
- Collaborate with the Biohub team to patent and license resulting technologies
Requirements
- PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in immunology or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years post-doctoral experience with a strong foundation in immunology
- Innovative research plan aimed at revealing fundamental principles of the immune system
- Demonstrated publication track record in top-tier journals
- Demonstrated leadership, innovation, and ability to work collaboratively
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to open science
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory or mentoring experience
- Expertise in systems immunology, immune engineering, or functional/molecular immunology
- Experience with quantitative, high-throughput, or systems approaches
