Group Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead the close timetable and coordinate dependencies across Finance and the wider business
• Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany postings
• Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely clearing of items
• Support the preparation and audit of statutory financial statements and consolidated group accounts
• Maintain accounting policies and stay updated on IFRS developments
• Assist with regulatory returns and tax compliance reporting
• Lead automation and the use of AI tools to improve reporting quality and efficiency
• Maintain and improve financial controls and process documentation
• Review work prepared by others and provide quality assurance

Requirements

• ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified
• Proven experience in financial accounting or financial control
• Essential experience in financial services (practice or industry)
• Strong Excel skills for large datasets and analysis
• Technology-first mindset with a focus on automation and AI tools
• Solid understanding of IFRS
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a high-accountability environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using NetSuite
• Exposure to regulatory reporting
