Group 1-2 UAS Air Vehicle External Pilot

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Group 1-2 UAS Air Vehicle Pilot supporting Counter UAS and Unmanned Autonomy Robotics Technology programs
• Operate Group 1-2 UAS and/or RC equivalent aircraft utilizing transmitters, control boxes, or tablets
• Provide project officer duties including instructor duties for new aircrew and maintenance/repair of assigned UAS
• Support ground launch and recovery evolutions as required
• Perform supervisory duties as necessary

Requirements

• High School Graduate (Associate’s degree or higher in UAS, aviation, or engineering preferred)
• Minimum of 500 hours operating Group 1 and 2 UAS
• Two years of RDT&E flight test experience
• Current DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain
• US Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Third-Class Medical Certificate

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated familiarity with autopilot systems (e.g., Pixhawk), Ground Control Stations, and UAS integration/modification
• Past designation as an FAA Commercial Pilot or Military Pilot/UAS Air Vehicle Pilot
• Familiarity with operations from Webster Outlying Field and surrounding airspace
