Groundskeeper

Responsibilities

• Clears debris and maintains drives, walkways, lawns, and memorial markers
• Performs snow removal and manages grave decorations
• Assists in opening and closing graves and setting up burial service equipment
• Erects tents, canopies, and arranges chairs for graveside ceremonies
• Prepares crypts for entombments and installs headstones or bronze memorials
• Operates backhoes and casket lifts under supervision
• Maintains, services, and cleans equipment and facilities
• Ensures compliance with safety rules and OSHA regulations

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent
• Minimum one year of experience operating small motorized equipment
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs independently and 150 lbs with assistance
• Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods
