Groundskeeper

Responsibilities

• Perform groundskeeping tasks including mowing, watering, weeding, seeding, and fertilizing assigned areas
• Operate power mowers and equipment to maintain hedges, shrubs, trees, and lawns
• Maintain automatic sprinkler systems and apply chemicals or fertilizers safely
• Maintain campus streets by patching asphalt, installing pavers, and pouring concrete
• Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, vans, backhoes, and snowplows
• Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, roadways, plazas, and steps
• Perform general labor and support maintenance trades during the off-season

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent professional experience)
• 3 years of related experience
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record
• At least 1 year of experience in landscape maintenance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor daily

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair landscape equipment and machinery
• Experience with commercial equipment (industrial mowers, pole saws, power edgers, etc.)
• Knowledge of common landscape pests, diseases, and plant varietals
• Experience operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, loaders, and lifts
• Experience with snow removal equipment and chemical application
