Grounds Worker

Responsibilities

• Maintain school grounds through all seasons, including mowing, seeding, fertilizing, and irrigation in summer.
• Perform winter maintenance such as snow and ice removal from parking lots and sidewalks using plows, blowers, and shovels.
• Operate heavy machinery and power tools, including loaders, backhoes, skid-steers, and tractors.
• Assist with basic construction and repair tasks, such as ditch digging, road repair, and fence installation.
• Manage seasonal tasks like raking leaves, cleaning drains, and maintaining athletic fields.
• Handle facility support tasks including moving furniture, setting up for special events, and picking up trash.
• Follow all established health and safety procedures and maintain organized storage areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of related experience in grounds maintenance or a similar field.
• Valid NH driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Ability to operate power tools and heavy machinery.
• Availability to work overtime, weekends for school events, and emergency call-ins for snow/ice events.
