About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including watering, mowing, weeding, trimming, edging, and fertilizing lawns
- Rake leaves and clear debris from walkways, fields, courts, and parking lots
- Operate light grounds equipment such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, lawn edgers, and snow blowers
- Service outdoor trash and recycling containers across campus
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment, reporting the need for major repairs
- Assist with snow removal and inclement weather preparedness tasks
- Help move furniture between buildings and campuses as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of commercial landscaping experience or a willingness to be trained
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform labor-intensive tasks
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work irregular hours for snow removal or campus emergencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of computerized maintenance management software
