Grounds Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist in the overall landscape maintenance of the campus, including lawns, athletic fields, and ornamental beds.
• Collect loose debris from university grounds each morning.
• Operate motorized vehicles and equipment such as riding lawnmowers, weed-eaters, edgers, hedge trimmers, and blowers.
• Perform routine inspections of grounds and building exteriors to report damages or problems.
• Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on grounds equipment.
• Assist with campus construction projects involving tasks like hammering, drilling, and painting.
• Maintain a safe work environment by wearing proper safety equipment and following occupational hazard precautions.

Requirements

• High school or vocational school graduate.
• Proven experience in landscape management, groundskeeping, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in various climates (hot and cold) for extended periods.
• Physical ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing 40 lbs or less, and occasionally lift heavier items using appropriate equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain a dependable work schedule, including flexibility for evenings or weekends.
• Submission of a Statement of Faith/Personal Testimony explaining your relationship with Jesus Christ and church involvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or license in specific technical trades.
