Grounds Shop Student Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist Grounds crew members with landscape maintenance around campus and rental properties
• Operate various equipment including power washers, lawn mowers, yard blowers, weed whackers, and edging equipment
• Use various hand tools to complete assigned tasks
• Drive vehicles or campus carts to transport tools and supplies as needed
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license and consent to a driving record background check
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Dependable and able to work well both under supervision and independently
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and use various manual tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in landscaping maintenance
• Previous experience with lawn maintenance equipment
