Grounds Service Worker I

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, weeding, trimming, edging, and fertilizing lawns
• Execute snow removal and debris clearing from walks, fields, parking lots, and other open areas
• Operate light grounds equipment such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and snow blowers
• Conduct power washing of sidewalks, exterior walls, signage, and other exterior surfaces
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment, reporting the need for major repairs
• Assist with exterior window cleaning, trash removal, and moving furniture between buildings
• Participate in training for heavy equipment use to support professional growth

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of commercial landscaping experience or a willingness to be trained
• Valid driver's license in good standing
• Ability to work extended hours and be available 24/7 on-call for snow removal or campus emergencies
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, standing, climbing, and kneeling
