Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain assigned Ground Support Equipment (AGE) used to support the transportation of Cabinet Members and high-ranking dignitaries.
• Dispatch AGE to the flightline to support flying operations and aircraft maintenance.
• Utilize maintenance instructions and technical data for the inspection and repair of ground equipment.
• Maintain hand and powered tools and complete necessary maintenance data forms and MIS inputs.
• Practice strict tool control, FOD awareness, and safety protocols.
• Handle fuel, oils, lubricants, and hazardous materials according to environmental standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including potential travel or TDY.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a powered AGE mechanic or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of powered AGE repair procedures and specialized maintenance courses.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Ability to obtain a flightline driver’s license.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain normal color vision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Section 608 Technician Universal Certification for refrigerant.
