Ground Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend architectures, telemetry parsers, and command pipelines
• Build highly reliable, low-latency operator displays and data visualization interfaces
• Develop, package, and deploy automated software tools for HIL and SIL simulation runs
• Implement communication protocol structures and serialization standards (JSON, Protobuf, YAML)
• Maintain high-rate time-series databases and data storage solutions
• Integrate ground station software interfaces for RF hardware and network routing
• Provide real-time software support during integrated vehicle testing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Rust and Linux environments
• Experience with network communication protocols (TCP, UDP, WebSockets)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Full-stack software development experience
• Familiarity with aerospace mission control frameworks (COSMOS, Open MCT, Yamcs)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Familiarity with RF communication systems or digital signal processing
• Experience in startup environments
