Grooming Salon Manager

Responsibilities

• Perform expert-level professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning
• Prioritize the safety, comfort, and well-being of every animal in the salon, monitoring for signs of discomfort or illness
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, shears, and dryers
• Interact professionally with pet parents to provide recommendations on grooming maintenance and at-home care
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area by disinfecting tools and equipment in adherence to hygiene and sanitation policies
• Train, support, and supervise entry-level trainees as needed

Requirements

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous professional grooming experience
• Completion of a technical grooming training program
• Expert knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming standards, and common health issues
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
