Groomer

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services for dogs and cats using specialized knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles
• Perform tasks including bathing, ear cleaning, nail clipping, and hair clipping using electric clippers, combs, and shears
• Follow specific customer instructions regarding clipping patterns and grooming styles
• Maintain a calm environment for animals using non-physical techniques
• Manage appointments by answering phones, scheduling, and verifying vaccinations
• Maintain salon cleanliness by sweeping, vacuuming, and sanitizing cages and tubs
• Complete and maintain accurate customer and company grooming forms

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-year experience in pet grooming or styling
• Must be comfortable working with both dogs and cats
• Must provide your own grooming tools (clippers, blades, shears) or be willing to purchase them
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift and carry pets weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating various grooming equipment including bathing tubs, dryers, and barber shears
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with customers
• Ability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, based on business needs
