Groomer

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, shears, and dryers
• Prioritize the safety and well-being of animals, monitoring for signs of discomfort or illness
• Interact professionally with pet parents to provide recommendations and resolve inquiries
• Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming salon and equipment in adherence to hygiene policies
• Evaluate individual pet needs based on coat type, skin condition, and temperament

Requirements

• Successful completion of Petco Pet Stylist Apprentice program or previous professional grooming experience
• Completion of a technical grooming training program
• Expert knowledge of dog breeds, grooming requirements, and common health issues
• Proficiency in breed-specific cuts and styling techniques
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 30 pounds
