Groomer

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, and ear/gland cleaning
• Prioritize the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet in the salon
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, shears, and dryers
• Interact professionally with pet parents to provide recommendations and address inquiries
• Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming area in adherence to hygiene and sanitation policies
• Evaluate individual pet needs based on coat type, skin condition, and temperament

Requirements

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous professional grooming experience
• Completion of a technical grooming training program
• Expert knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming standards, and common health issues
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
