Groomer

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning
• Prioritize the safety, comfort, and well-being of every animal in the salon
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, shears, and dryers
• Evaluate individual pet needs based on coat type, skin conditions, and temperament
• Interact professionally with pet parents to provide grooming recommendations and excellent customer service
• Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming area in adherence to hygiene and sanitation policies
• Educate pet parents on at-home grooming maintenance and products

Requirements

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous professional grooming experience
• Completion of a technical grooming training program
• Expert knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming standards, and common health issues
• High level of proficiency in breed-specific cuts and styling techniques
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the schedule
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
