Groom Tech in Training

Responsibilities

• Enroll in and complete the Paragon Level 1 training program within the required five-week timeline
• Perform essential grooming tasks including bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning
• Practice safe pet handling and ensure the well-being of all animals in the salon
• Maintain and sanitize grooming tools, equipment, and workstations to ensure safety and hygiene
• Inspect animals for external signs of parasites, disease, or injury and report findings to owners
• Assist with customer service, including scheduling appointments and verifying vaccination records
• Maintain accurate records of pet clients and services provided

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
• Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion for animals
• Ability to provide or purchase your own grooming tools (clippers, blades, shears)
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using professional grooming equipment such as bathing tubs, dryers, and clippers
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
• Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete documentation
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
