Groom Tech in Training

Responsibilities

• Enroll in and complete the Paragon Level 1 training program within the required timeline
• Perform safe pet handling, bathing, drying, brushing, and combing for various coat types
• Execute basic grooming tasks including nail trimming, ear cleaning, and preparatory hair trimming
• Utilize basic clipper and finishing techniques while maintaining equipment
• Ensure the safety and well-being of animals by inspecting for parasites, disease, or injury
• Maintain a clean and sanitized salon environment and grooming tools
• Assist with customer service, including scheduling appointments and verifying vaccinations
• Maintain accurate records of pet clients and services provided

Requirements

• Comfortable working with dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
• Demonstrated patience and compassion for animals
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to provide your own grooming tools (clippers, blades, shears) or willingness to purchase them
• Ability to lift and move animals, equipment, or merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like bending, kneeling, and squatting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using professional grooming equipment such as bathing tubs, dryers, and various shears
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
• Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
