About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist Floor Supervisors in managing grocery and housekeeping departments
- Perform store opening and closing procedures, including acting as primary manager-on-duty for Sunday shifts
- Manage merchandise by receiving, unloading, stocking, and rotating products to ensure quality and freshness
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across the sales floor, restrooms, offices, and eating areas
- Verify vendor invoices for accuracy in SKUs, quantities, and pricing
- Provide professional customer service, handle complaints, and operate cash registers when assigned
- Supervise student employees to ensure tasks are completed and service standards are met
- Monitor equipment functionality and follow safety protocols for spills or emergencies
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong mathematical skills for invoice verification and inventory tasks
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs with relative ease
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in various temperatures (refrigerated/freezer areas)
- Expressed commitment to Jesus Christ and the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
Preferred Qualifications
- College experience
- Minimum of 1 year of retail experience, specifically in merchandising or inventory management
