Grinder Operator

Responsibilities

• Setup, grind, and polish leveler rolls to blemish-free customer specifications
• Perform receiving inspections and final inspections of rolls
• Change grinding wheels and check/adjust coolant levels
• Operate various types of inspection equipment to measure rolls
• Conduct ultrasound, surface finish, hardness, and runout testing
• Document all production and inspection activities on required forms
• Maintain housekeeping of the work area and equipment
• Prepare rolls for shipment according to established procedures

Requirements

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Proficiency in operating inspection equipment and measuring tools
• Ability to perform detailed technical testing and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Hazardous Communication training
• Forklift training
• Crane Safety training
