Grille Kitchen Helper

Responsibilities

• Perform food preparation tasks including slicing vegetables, making sauces, marinating meats, baking, and portioning ingredients.
• Follow daily bulk prep lists and "Grab n’ Go" order sheets for various Retail Dining locations.
• Ensure all food items meet quality standards for taste, presentation, and freshness.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and work areas, including washing dishes and managing trash/compost.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and Middlebury College Dining Service policies.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during service periods.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a student at Middlebury College.
• Ability to complete SERVsafe training and pass the required test within 14 days of hiring.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending and overhead reaching.
• Ability to lift 10-15 pounds frequently and up to 45 pounds occasionally.
• Availability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required.
