Greenhouse Technician

Responsibilities

• Daily care and upkeep of multiple species of plants
• Collect and record data using an electronic notebook
• Scout for and manually remove pests and weeds; apply beneficial insects
• Perform pesticide applications, reporting, and record keeping
• Prepare media and plant or transplant seeds, cuttings, and propagules
• Monitor and adjust irrigation, nutrients, lighting, and climate
• Harvest, process, record, and organize seed
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and security of trade secrets

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of plant science, horticulture, propagation, and pest management
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and problem solve
• Detail oriented with a proactive approach to routine tasks
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks for several hours
• Must be able to work weekends
• Ability to hold a California driver’s license and be covered by company vehicle insurance
