About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead grease product development projects from initial profile definition through to commercial launch
- Develop test plans, conduct detailed analysis, and review experimental data
- Screen new additive and base stock technologies using bench-scale and large-scale test rigs
- Manage lab-scale grease manufacturing and oversee commercial scale-up processes
- Conduct field trials in collaboration with field engineers and customers
- Identify intellectual property opportunities and document project outcomes
- Collaborate with global, cross-disciplinary teams to ensure smooth technology hand-off
- Partner with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) regarding requirements and approval testing
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in grease formulation development and manufacturing
- Strong understanding of the physical and chemical properties of lubricant base oils, thickeners, and additives
- Deep knowledge of grease manufacturing processes and optimization
- Strong foundation in statistical analysis, rheology, tribology, and project management
- Proficiency in physical and chemical analytical techniques
- BS/MS/PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of mechanical systems in grease applications
- Ability to link molecular structure to product performance
- Experience with chemical synthesis and advanced molecular characterization tools
- Experience leading third-party contract research programs
- Basic knowledge of sustainability, data science, and artificial intelligence
- Hands-on grease field experience and troubleshooting skills
