Graphics Playback Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and control real-time broadcast graphics utilizing Vizrt systems, including Viz Trio, Viz Pilot, Viz Artist, and Viz Engine
• Prepare and execute lower thirds, full-screen and split-screen graphics, tickers, and other on-air assets
• Collaborate with producers, directors, and newsroom staff to ensure accurate and timely graphic delivery
• Manage and integrate live data feeds such as financial data and election results
• Monitor iNews rundowns to ensure graphics align with show production requirements
• Test, validate, and verify all graphic elements prior to broadcast
• Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues in real time during live productions
• Maintain clear communication with the control room and production teams

Requirements

• Proven experience operating Vizrt graphics systems in a live broadcast environment
• Hands-on experience with Viz Pilot, Viz Trio, Viz Artist, and Viz Engine
• Strong knowledge of broadcast production workflows and newsroom operations
• Familiarity with MOS workflow integration and Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS)
• Proficiency with newsroom systems such as iNews
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to remain composed in high-pressure environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a live broadcast graphics role
• Experience with data-driven graphics and database integrations
• Basic understanding of graphic design principles and visual composition
• Familiarity with graphic playback systems and playout servers
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Production, Media Technology, or Graphic Design
