About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the entire lifecycle of pre- and post-award grant activities, including proposal preparation, compliance review, and budget oversight.
- Review and prepare grant proposal budgets, faculty application packages, and biosketches in various electronic portals.
- Ensure all proposals comply with extramural sponsor requirements, university guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor grant milestones, deadlines, and reporting requirements to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Perform financial reconciliation, including monthly budget analysis, spending projections, and fiscal year-end closing.
- Act as a primary liaison between principal investigators, faculty, and external sponsoring agencies.
- Provide training and guidance to researchers on pre-award systems and compliance documentation.
- Manage purchase requisitions for scientific equipment and coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) on re-budgeting and extensions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a research administration environment.
- Proven ability to manage complex financial data and ensure regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with university financial systems such as Concur, RASCAL, ARC, and FINSYS.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work adaptably in a fast-paced research setting.
