About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of Infectious Diseases clinical grant programs, contracts, and restricted accounts.
  • Oversee financial administration of the Ryan White & HIV treatment and prevention programs.
  • Provide guidance to faculty and staff on proposal development and grant applications for Federal, State, and Corporate funding agencies.
  • Monitor research proposals to ensure compliance with University and agency policies.
  • Analyze fund balances, burn rates, and projections for progress reporting and award close-outs.
  • Reconcile award expenses against budgets to prevent cost over-runs.
  • Prepare and submit journal entries for salary, non-salary expenses, and fringe corrections.
  • Develop clinical trial budgets for federal and industry studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in research and sponsored programs administration, ideally in an academic environment.
  • 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State agency regulations and policies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent human relations, leadership, and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Direct experience with NIH, Health Research Service Administrative, and State of New Jersey grants.
