About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform finance, administrative, and accounting activities to manage grants and contracts
- Ensure compliance with university, federal, state, and local regulations and funding requirements
- Review Local Program expenditures to ensure alignment with award budgets and policies
- Monitor contract and project budgets and assist in preparing budget modifications
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual budget reports
- Log, track, and review invoices for accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with contract terms
- Collaborate with staff on tracking, reviewing, and reconciling expenditure reports, purchase orders, and accruals
- Assist with pre-award activities, project close-out meetings, and agency audit reviews
- Maintain accounting records and progress reports, including procurement and invoicing data
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract/project management, accounting, or financial administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint)
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills (written and oral)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in federal grants management and familiarity with 2 CFR 200 regulations
- Working knowledge of financial management system software (e.g., Banner, Workday, SAP, or similar ERP systems)
- Ability to work effectively in both team environments and independently
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
