Grain Inspector

Responsibilities

• Log-in, organize, store, distribute, and dispose of incoming and inspected samples
• Clean grain samples using dockage carter/sieves and prepare for grading
• Pick up and deliver samples between various locations and the office
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment including moisture meters, scales, and protein testers
• Perform analyses for moisture, protein, dockage, test weight, mycotoxins, and germination
• Maintain basic laboratory supplies and clean work areas
• Ensure compliance with the Canada Grain Act, CFIA protocols, and SGS SOPs
• Issue initial and final inspection reports for food, container, and industrial sectors

Requirements

• High School diploma
• 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory or agricultural setting preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow complex work instructions accurately and timely
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
• Availability for extended hours, shift work, and occasional travel
