About the role
Responsibilities
- Log-in, organize, store, distribute, and dispose of incoming and inspected samples
- Clean grain samples using dockage carter/sieves and prepare for grading
- Pick up and deliver samples between various locations and the office
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment including moisture meters, scales, and protein testers
- Perform analyses for moisture, protein, dockage, test weight, mycotoxins, and germination
- Maintain basic laboratory supplies and clean work areas
- Ensure compliance with the Canada Grain Act, CFIA protocols, and SGS SOPs
- Issue initial and final inspection reports for food, container, and industrial sectors
Requirements
- High School diploma
- 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory or agricultural setting preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to follow complex work instructions accurately and timely
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
- Availability for extended hours, shift work, and occasional travel
