Grain Elevator Laborer

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean work environment by shoveling grain spills, sweeping floors, and brushing down equipment and workstations
• Facilitate the safe and orderly moving, coupling, and unloading of rail cars
• Position gates or spouts to direct the flow of grain from conveyors to storage silos
• Control grain flow by operating gates, chutes, or hoppers
• Operate various power tools, including electrical, cordless, and pneumatic devices
• Perform other facility duties as required to support efficient operations

Requirements

• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Capability to lift and stack up to 50lbs unassisted
• Ability to safely perform duties on ladders, platforms, or scaffolding
• Comfort working in a processing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and heights
• Completion of safety training, such as confined space certification
