Graduate Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support identified students in 1:1, group, or whole-class settings to ensure safety and access to learning.
• Assist in developing resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
• Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
• Support classroom behaviour management and attend to students' personal welfare needs.
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback on achievements and needs.
• Prepare classrooms, maintain resources, and assist with the display of student work.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and school stakeholders.
• Provide administrative support and undertake record-keeping as requested.

Requirements

• Degree level qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working directly with young people in an education or training environment.
• Basic knowledge of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and learning barriers.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Proficient ICT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
• Ability to motivate and engage children and work effectively within a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an excellent standard of written and spoken English.
