Responsibilities

  • Lead discussion sections for COGSCI 200 and develop lesson plans
  • Attend all scheduled lectures and assigned in-person discussion sections
  • Hold at least two office hours per week to support students
  • Grade student assignments according to lead faculty instructions
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the teaching team
  • Maintain prompt communication via email with faculty and staff

Requirements

  • Enrolled in good standing as a graduate student at the University of Michigan
  • Available to teach during Thursday afternoon and Friday section times
  • Experience using the Canvas learning management system
  • Relevant academic preparation to teach cognitive science course material
  • Willingness to develop innovative approaches in the classroom
  • English language proficiency (as verified by the English Language Institute if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience serving as a Graduate Student Instructor (GSI)
  • Current enrollment in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA)
