About the role

Responsibilities

  • Grade all course assignments and post grades weekly to the Canvas gradebook
  • Facilitate student discussions during class times, office hours, and other scheduled meetings
  • Support the faculty instructor in scaffolding and implementing curricula
  • Communicate regularly with students and respond to emails within one business day
  • Engage with students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to support their learning

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an LSA graduate program in good academic standing
  • Demonstrated research experience
  • Ability to provide detailed written feedback to approximately 115 students
  • Availability to attend weekly class meetings on Tuesdays from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an instructor or grader for a similar course
  • Practical experience as a student in STEM fields
  • Practical knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Strong interest in mentoring first-year undergraduate students
