Responsibilities
- Attend course lectures according to specific course schedules
- Lead discussion, laboratory, or observational sections
- Grade exams, homework sets, and lab reports
- Hold regular weekly office hours, including designated in-person hours in the Astronomy Help Room
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Michigan for the Fall 2026 term
- Completed courses or demonstrable experience in astronomy, astrophysics, or a closely related physics discipline
- Good academic standing in your degree program
- Minimum registration of 5-6 credit hours (subject to faculty advisor approval)
Preferred Qualifications
- LSA student enrolled in a graduate program
- Previous experience teaching courses in astronomy, astrophysics, or physics
- Previous experience as a GSI with favorable student evaluations
