About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deliver graduate student success initiatives to support retention, progression, and graduation.
- Advise undergraduates pursuing Accelerated Dual Degree pathways and manage their transition to graduate faculty advisors.
- Plan community-building events in collaboration with the Career Center, Student Experience and Belonging, and the University Counseling Center.
- Run and interpret reports to track student progress in collaboration with the Registrar’s Office.
- Facilitate onboarding for new graduate students, including Graduate Assistant orientation and online orientation programs.
- Supervise and mentor student workers and oversee the Graduate Assistant program process.
- Serve as an advisor to the Graduate Student Association and maintain the Graduate School Advising Handbook.
Requirements
- Master's degree in counseling, student affairs, higher education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students in a higher education setting.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including public presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to engage in data-informed decision-making.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff across the university.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience as an academic advisor or success coach.
- Experience developing new and innovative programming.
- Proficiency with Slate, Canvas, or other data and learning management systems.
- Evidence of commitment to the Jesuit mission in higher education.
