Graduate Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ship production Python services using FastAPI and build internal tools and dashboards
• Work on front-end features with Jinja, Tailwind, and React across Heroku and AWS
• Build and maintain data pipelines in dbt and BigQuery
• Develop clustering and scoring models for student personas, including labelling with LLMs
• Implement identity stitching to unify student profiles across disparate sources
• Apply pseudonymisation and data minimisation practices in all work
• Identify and fix slow, fragile, or legacy systems proactively

Requirements

• Strong academic or project track record demonstrating rigour and clarity of thought
• Solid Python skills beyond notebooks, including pandas and numpy
• Proficient SQL with ability to write clear, maintainable queries on messy data
• Experience working with real, messy datasets: schema design, cleaning, and validation
• Self-starter who learns tools like BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Docker, git, and cloud frameworks independently
• Bonus: shipped an end-to-end project (app, API, bot, or tool) that other people used
