Graduate Nurse

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 6-month internship program featuring classroom learning and precepted bedside clinical experience
• Provide high-quality care for patients in a 10-bed adult intensive care unit specializing in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery
• Collaborate with the Advanced Practice Team, participate in patient/family conferences, and join patient care rounds
• Assist in research studies and quality assurance activities within the CVICU
• Transition to a permanent Registered Nurse role with a two-year commitment following the internship

Requirements

• Graduate Nurse or newly licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
• No prior experience practicing as a Registered Nurse
• Successful completion of the NCLEX within 45 days of the start date
• Ability to start the internship in August 2026
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy patients/objects for long periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Previous experience as a Patient Care Tech in a CVICU
• Student Nurse clinical experience in a CVICU
• ACLS certification
