Graduate Assistant Men's and Women's Track & Field Coach

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing daily practices, game strategy, and athlete development
• Contribute to the technical and tactical development of student-athletes, emphasizing skill progression, teamwork, and character
• Coach in at least one area including sprints, hurdles, high jump, multis, or throws
• Assist with recruiting efforts, including evaluating prospective student-athletes and participating in on-campus visits
• Support student-athlete academic success and monitor academic progress
• Maintain compliance with NCAA Division III, MIAC, and Gustavus policies and procedures
• Contribute to team operations, including travel coordination and driving large vans during competition season

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and acceptance/admittance into a graduate program
• Knowledge of, and compliance with, NCAA Division III, MIAC, and Gustavus Adolphus College governing rules
• Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with student-athletes and coaching staff
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team as required
• Proficiency with a computer and Microsoft Office Suite products
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate track and field experience
• Experience coaching in throws
• Experience with Strength and Conditioning for track and field athletes
