Graduate Assistant for Sports Information

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of rosters, schedules, and statistics for all 22 Athletics programs
• Write previews, recaps, and personal interest stories for the Bobcats website and media outlets
• Create and manage athletics media, including photography, graphics, and video content
• Assist in the production of live broadcasts for home competitions
• Utilize social media platforms to enhance content reach and engagement
• Support the Sports Information Director with event planning and execution
• Provide assistance to the Compliance and Athletics offices as requested

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Sports Management, Communications, Marketing)
• Formal acceptance into a West Virginia Wesleyan College graduate program
• Strong journalistic writing ability and knowledge of AP style
• Proficiency in media creation software such as Photoshop or Canva
• Experience with NCAA LiveStats (Genius Sports) software
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Box Out Sports for social media graphics
• Broadcasting experience, including play-by-play or color commentary
• Highly organized and diligent working habits
