About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive academic advising to graduate students regarding academic planning, course selection, and degree completion
  • Coordinate student records, registration processes, and electronic workflows within the Academic Advising & Registration Office
  • Design, build, and maintain electronic forms and automated workflows using platforms such as Softdocs, Google, and DocuSign
  • Manage targeted student communication campaigns via email, text messaging, and other digital engagement platforms
  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure strict compliance with FERPA and institutional policies
  • Monitor academic progress and conduct proactive outreach to at-risk or probationary students to develop success plans
  • Serve as a functional resource for advising and registration systems, collaborating with IT on system enhancements and testing
  • Support graduation clearance processes, including degree audits and the review of transfer credit evaluations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of experience in academic advising, student services, or higher education administration
  • Proficiency with Student Information Systems (SIS) and records management tools
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague and Ellucian Self-Service/Degree Audit systems
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite
  • Demonstrated experience building/managing electronic forms and administrative workflows
  • Thorough understanding of FERPA and higher education compliance standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work diplomatically with faculty and students

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field
  • Direct experience advising graduate-level student populations
  • Familiarity with WordPress and digital student communication tools
  • Experience advising international student populations
