Grading Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site representative and point of contact for construction activities, managing communication between clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions including scheduling, material control, and day-to-day direction of field personnel.
• Provide leadership in executing work requirements, ensuring quality, subcontractor performance, and adherence to construction cost budgets.
• Evaluate execution for compliance with contracts, design data, schedules, and quality standards.
• Monitor the implementation of safety orientations and provide coaching for continuous improvement.
• Review and monitor cost and man-hour budgets for installation processes and develop requirements for staff, facilities, and equipment.
• Oversee specialized operations including roads, highways, bridges, Maintenance of Traffic, and Erosion Control.

Requirements

• 5+ years of work experience in the construction industry.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience managing multiple grading crews simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of Trimble/machine grade control, demolition, excavation, lime, and flex base operations.
• Knowledge of local materials and direct experience with roads, highways, and bridges.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and fellow employees.
