Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for the academy
• Monitor all aspects of academy performance
• Attend four to five governing body meetings per year
• Visit the academy three times a year to observe operations and engage with staff and pupils
• Provide support and challenge to academy leaders, potentially participating in interview panels or appeal hearings

Requirements

• Ability to think strategically and contribute to academy development
• Strong listening, reflection, and learning skills from diverse viewpoints
• Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data and statistics
• Confidence to ask questions and challenge leadership in an appropriate manner
• Commitment to dedicating the necessary time to the voluntary role
