About the role
Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for the academy
- Monitor all aspects of academy performance
- Attend four to five governing body meetings per year
- Visit the academy three times a year to observe operations and engage with staff and pupils
- Provide support and challenge to academy leaders, potentially participating in interview panels or appeal hearings
Requirements
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to academy development
- Strong listening, reflection, and learning skills from diverse viewpoints
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data and statistics
- Confidence to ask questions and challenge leadership in an appropriate manner
- Commitment to dedicating the necessary time to the voluntary role
