Government Relations & Partnerships Lead

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive government relations strategy at federal, state, and local levels
• Serve as primary liaison with the NRC, DOE, and Congressional committees
• Track and respond to legislation and regulatory rulemaking affecting U.S. nuclear energy
• Identify and manage strategic partnerships with utilities, research institutions, and national laboratories
• Represent the company in industry organizations like NEI and ANS
• Coordinate with the Director of Licensing to support NRC engagement and public meetings
• Develop stakeholder communications and engagement plans for diverse audiences
• Prepare executive briefing materials, testimony, and policy submissions

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Nuclear Engineering, Law, or Business
• 8–15 years of experience in government relations or regulatory affairs within the U.S. energy or nuclear sector
• Direct experience engaging with the NRC, DOE, or other federal/state energy agencies
• Strong knowledge of U.S. nuclear energy policy and federal regulatory frameworks
• Proven track record of managing strategic partnerships in highly regulated environments
• Executive-level communication and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in public policy, law, or nuclear engineering
• Direct experience with SMR or advanced reactor government affairs
• Existing relationships with NRC/DOE leadership or Congressional energy staff
• Familiarity with DOE funding mechanisms and federal grant programs
• Experience with NEPA environmental review processes
• PMP certification
