Government Documents-Reference Librarian

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide access to government documents as a Federal Depository Library (FDLP)
• Process government documents, including binding, stamping, and labeling, in compliance with FDLP regulations
• Select and deselect federal documents according to FDLP guidelines
• Provide high-quality reference services, library instruction, and faculty liaison support
• Organize and shelve materials using the SuDoc Classification System
• Maintain accurate online system records and catalog access
• Supervise work-study students, including scheduling and preparing timesheets
• Monitor FDLP communications and stay current with professional developments in library science
• Participate in collection development and university committees

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from an accredited institution
• Experience in reference services and library instruction
• Knowledge of the SuDoc Classification System
• Experience with both print and electronic resources
• Demonstrated supervisory ability
• Ability to work one evening per week and weekends on a rotating basis

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
