Google Cloud Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security controls and procedures for GCP services and resources
• Perform risk assessments and security reviews to identify vulnerabilities
• Monitor and analyze security alerts, events, and incidents across the cloud environment
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices for cloud operations
• Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies to control access to GCP resources
• Conduct regular security assessments and collaborate with development teams on secure coding
• Stay up to date with the latest security threats and trends in cloud security
• Provide security training and awareness for engineering teams
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to security incidents
• Maintain documentation of security policies, architecture, and processes related to GCP

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in cloud security specifically within Google Cloud Platform
• Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
• Experience with GCP security tools including Security Command Center, Cloud Armor, and Cloud Identity
• Expertise in IAM, data encryption, and security configurations in GCP
• Familiarity with network security principles such as firewalls and VPNs
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification
• Experience in scripting or programming languages like Python or Bash
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools
• Experience with SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing frameworks
