Associate's degree or current college enrollment, US Citizenship or Permanent Residency, Maximum of three previous AmeriCorps terms
About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver small-group academic instruction in Math and/or English Language Arts (ELA)
- Implement pre-developed lesson plans and instructional materials with fidelity
- Assess student understanding and provide targeted support to address learning gaps
- Track student attendance, participation, and academic progress
- Establish a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model for students
- Participate in all required trainings, coaching sessions, and program meetings
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree or current enrollment in an accredited college or university program
- U.S. Citizenship or legal Permanent Residency status
- Must have served no more than three previous AmeriCorps service terms
- Ability to travel to a GO partner school up to 5 days per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working or volunteering with children
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Commitment to educational equity and diversity
Benefits
- AmeriCorps living allowance (approximately $24,000 for the full service year)
