About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted, small-group instruction in Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
  • Prepare for lessons using provided materials
  • Serve as a mentor to students, supporting social and emotional development
  • Build authentic and healthy relationships with students to foster confidence

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree or current enrollment in an accredited college or university program
  • US Citizenship or legal Permanent Residency status
  • Must have served no more than three previous AmeriCorps service terms
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to travel to a GO partner school up to 5 days per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working or volunteering with children
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Ability to implement feedback and a commitment to lifelong learning
