GNC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate advanced algorithms to satisfy Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) requirements
• Develop hypersonic plant modeling and analysis tools
• Create Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs) to document GNC designs
• Perform analyses to verify that algorithm designs meet requirements
• Contribute to the overall flight control system design, implementation, integration, and testing
• Develop engineering tools as needed to support mission objectives
• Communicate technical findings regularly to the Vehicle Management System and GNC Leads

Requirements

• Fundamental knowledge and understanding of flight dynamics
• Proficiency with Matlab and Simulink
• Proficiency with revision control tools such as Git or Bitbucket
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience (2-5 years for Level II, 5-10 for Senior, 10-20 for Staff)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aircraft, missile, or launch vehicle development
• Expertise in guidance algorithm synthesis, autopilot design, or navigation algorithm implementation
• Experience with dynamic system modeling of fixed-wing or hypersonic vehicles
• Advanced degree with a technical focus in GNC-relevant areas
• Existing TS/SCI security clearance
