About the Company

Lynk is the inventor of satellite direct to standard phone technology (sat2phone) and holds the world’s only commercial license from the FCC to operate a commercial sat2phone system. Lynk's technology enables mobile network operators' subscribers to send and receive text messages to and from space via standard unmodified mobile devices, aiming to bring mobile broadband to billions of people worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Evolve satellite ADCS architecture including components for relative and absolute attitude measurements
  • Refine Concept of Operations for satellite ADCS and related ground systems
  • Interface with Systems Engineering to inform constellation and network architecture
  • Support development of 6 DOF simulations for ADCS evaluation
  • Perform analyses to determine component performance requirements, sizing, accuracy, and reliability
  • Specify, evaluate, and select attitude determination sensors (IMUs, magnetometers, star trackers, etc.)
  • Specify, evaluate, and select attitude determination effectors (magnetorquers, reaction wheels, etc.)
  • Design and implement algorithms and software for various pointing modes and control scenarios
  • Perform integration and test of ADCS components and software in the lab and on satellites
  • Support satellite integration, testing, and delivery to launch providers
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for ADCS architecture and design

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in physics, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with satellite attitude determination and/or control systems
  • Recent experience in projects developing space hardware and software
  • In-depth knowledge of ADCS components such as IMUs, magnetometers, star trackers, and reaction wheels
  • Programming proficiency in Rust, C, Python, or MATLAB
  • Proficiency with Linux-based systems and at least one systems language (C, C++, Rust)
  • Solid understanding of version control tools like Git
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in physics or engineering
  • Knowledge of satellite propulsion systems, orbit dynamics, and low-thrust trajectory planning
  • Hands-on experience with programming microcontrollers
